WRITE & Well Book Club

Some books do more than simply teach you things. They help you see yourself clearly -- maybe even for the first time.

The Write & Well Book Club is a space for women who are curious about healing, whether you're just starting to ask questions, or you've been on this road for a while and could use some company.

We read books that take trauma, nervous system health, and healing seriously — without requiring a psychology degree to understand them. Then we come together to talk about what landed, what hit close to home, and what it means for us as we navigate the twists and turns of daily life.

How It Works

We meet every other month — one session per book, alternating between virtual and in-person gatherings for those local to the Pacific Northwest.

Virtual sessions are open to anyone, anywhere. We meet on Zoom for 1.5-2 hours to discuss the book, share what resonated, and connect with a community of women doing similar work.

In-person sessions are for those in the greater Seattle area who want to gather in a shared space. Same conversation, same books — just with the added bonus of

Each session includes a facilitated discussion, with a loose structure that leaves plenty of room for the conversation to go where it needs to go. Come having read the book, or come having read half of it. Come with questions or epiphanies. Come with the passage that stopped you cold, and the one that lit a fire in you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Did you know that community connection is a key piece of the healing process? That connection is exactly what this space provides. It's not therapy, but it is a safe place to talk about tough stuff.

Discussions are guided (but not rigid). We'll move through the material together, and you're welcome to share as much or as little as feels right. If something in the reading connects to your own experience and you want to share it, that's welcome — with one gentle ask: be mindful that we're a mixed group with varied histories. What feels light to one person may land heavy for another. We hold space for each other here.

This is not a replacement for working with a therapist. If anything, it might be the thing that makes you want to find one — and that's a good thing. What we offer is connection, validation, and a map. The deeper processing and integration work should be done with professional support in a clinical setting.

What you will find here: books that challenge and clarify, conversations that go somewhere real, and a community of women where radical authenticity isn't a brand value. It's just...who we are.
